Hi, I'm
Hal Cardona,
PC Sleuth. As I
write this I am 41 and with a birthday coming next week, soon to be 42.
I am an independent Computer Consultant in the Indianapolis, Indiana
area. I work out of my house, where I live with my wife and 2 daughters.
For fun, I play the Tuba in several area groups.
We have a
constantly changing menagerie of computers and networks around our
house. You can check what we currently have on our
Systems
page.
My job is my hobby. I grew up in the computer industry. A friend and I
designed an early computer gaming system in 1976 as a science fair
project, and I've been doing this stuff either as a hobby or
professionally ever since. My first computer was a programmable TI
calculator in the early 70s. I have owned more systems than I can
count. Anyone else out there remember playing Star Trek with a Teletype?
I used to use CompuServe and loved the forums. I have been on the
Internet since 1995. |

I started working for myself in 1994 when I realized that people wanted
to pay me to fix their PCs and networks. I currently serve as tech
support and/or off site Sys Admin for over 200 clients around the US. I
do a lot of trouble shooting, designing and building of networks.
I also build custom computer systems (Email me at pcsleuth@pcsleuth.com if you want something better than a run of the mill Dell). Clients
call me when normal tech support from Microsoft or their hardware vendor
can't solve a problem. I am a little different from most support people as I don't blame the hardware or software vendor, I just
find
a solution.
I currently play with, support, and own machines running MS-DOS, Windows
3.1, Windows 95, Windows 98 (both editions), Windows ME, Windows NT
(Server and Workstation 3.51 and 4.0) Windows 2000 (Professional, Server
and Advanced Server), Windows XP (Home, Professional and Server), Linux
(I like the Mandrake distro), BEOS 5, Mac OS 9.1 and Mac OSX. |
