Hello. My name is Ray Blake. I'm Head of Software Design
at GR Business
Process Solutions, which I own with my business partner and friend,
Graham Barrow. I live in the UK, near London. I'm in my late 30s, blissfully married,
and have 3 young sons, through whom I've learned more than I wanted to
know about emergency toy maintenance (who would have thought that the
more noise a toy makes when fully operational, the harder it is to fix?) |

I've been using computers since I was 12, but
they have only recently begun to be part of my career in the last year
or two as I realised that the sideline to my business was actually
better paid and more fun than the core business itself.
Nowadays
I develop business systems in 3 environments:
- In Excel/VBA (if I'm allowed to)
- In Access/VBA (if I have to)
- In Visual Basic (if there really is no other way)
I've learned so much from the many skilled professionals who share their
expertise so freely on the web that I consider it an obligation (as well
as a pleasure) to do the same. I write about Excel and Excel VBA in ABC
and can also be found in Linda's Microsoft Office group dispensing Excel
and Access prescriptions. |
