To SP or not to SP? THAT is the question!
Well, all the Windows XP users have been yacking all week about the new
service pack just released by Microsoft, which is supposed to fix a
serious security leak in XP and fix some bugs (oh yeah, and address some
legal issues Microsoft needed to address). Mostly I've been hearing
equal amounts of reports as to whether it installed without problems or
not. No one yet has told me of any XP problems they were having that
were solved since applying this patch, so the jury's still out on whether
you should bother installing it or not. Personally, my biggest
gripes with XP have not been solved yet and I was sure hoping they would
be. Things like the poor performance of my search utility and some
intermittent flakiness with my taskbar. All in all, I still like XP,
but really do wish ALL software companies would stop selling us betas with
bugs! Instead of a patch, I wish Bill wouldda given us an
exterminator...or maybe this frog from his clip art gallery.
