Recurring Viruses

Frequently when we try removing a virus or worm from our computers we will receive a notification that the virus still exists upon rebooting.

One of the most common causes of this is Windows ME and XP's 'System Restore' feature.

System Restore contains a backup of the computer's files in case it is necessary to restore the computer to an earlier 'known good configuration'.

While removing viruses from computers which have 'System Restore', or 'Go Back' installed, you will need to disable their features before you use the AV program removal instructions.

After rebooting the computer and achieving a clean boot then you can reactivate the 'System Restore' or 'Go Back' feature.
