A Message from Linda:
Changes in ABC
~~ by Linda Johnson,
Linda's Computer Stop
Hi there gang. I guess you've
noticed that ABC isn't being published as often as it used to be.
Well, this is becuz I just don't have the volume of articles that I used
to get. I'm sure the Fleet is just running out of ideas, since
they've thoroughly covered just about everything they can think of.
If you don't believe me, just browse ABC's archives - it's jam-packed
with great stuff.
So, becuz of this, I'm only
publishing ABC when I have enuf stuff to make it worth your time and my
effort. I can't see wasting either of these precious commodities
on "filler" or "fluff", so ABC will only be published when I have enuf
quality articles to keep up with the high standards I have always had
when it comes to ABC.
With that in mind, how 'bout some of
you sending me some articles? I'm sure lots of you know things
that others would love to know also. You don't have to join the
Fleet just to contribute. And, though I can't pay you for the
articles, I'm more than happy to let you advertise your own website or
business in your byline. Of course, I will visit your site to be sure
it's something I feel is appropriate for ABC's readers becuz I know one
thing about my readers - if they like the quality of what you teach
them, they WILL visit your site.
However, though you don't HAVE to
join the Fleet to contribute, you are certainly welcome to join the
Fleet after you've contributed one or two articles. We'd be
thrilled to have more knowledgeable people in the Fleet, helping us to
answer those tough "Ask the Fleet" questions, so please feel free to
volunteer for that too.
Speaking of "Ask the Fleet" ... I
apologize to anyone who asked a question and did not receive an answer.
I try my best to get all questions answered, but if I don't know the
answer or can't find it myself, I have to rely on the Fleet ... and
sometimes they are just too busy and can't get to all questions.
And, of course, sometimes the questions are too computer-specific for us
to determine all the answers. And, lastly, sometimes the
troubleshooting required is too dangerous to do via the Internet or
email, so, for legal reasons, we cannot always make the suggestions we
might make if we were standing right there at your computer performing
the steps ourselves. Unfortunately, sometimes you just have to
take your computer to a local shop .... that's just a reality.
Anyway ... I hope you enjoy this
issue. I think it contains some great articles, both by Fleet
members and non-Fleet members. The next issue will be published as
soon as I've got enuf "meat".
