 Lock&Hide
               High level desktop folder security
                                    for Windows 95/98/Me

Keep your personal and most valuable files locked and hidden from prying eyes, viruses, and other users of your computer.  Easy to use and extremely secure.

FEATURED IN PC MAGAZINE!

What is Lock&Hide?
Lock&Hide is an  extremely easy to use  program, that allows you to lock and hide any folder on your desktop.  Folders secured with Lock&Hide cannot be seen, found, or accessed. Your folders remain totally invisible and highly secured, yet can be accessed quckly and easily at any time!

Very Easy to Use
No bells and whistles to learn here - anyone can use Lock&Hide right away,
You just enter the folder name, click Ok, and in an instant your folder will vanish and be completely secured - locked and hidden.
To bring back a secured folder is just as simple. Enter the folder name and click OK again and voila, your folder is back on your desktop and fully accessible!.

Sub Folders Ok
Your folders may also contain sub folders. This is very convenient if you have a number of different but related  folders you would like to secure. Instead of hiding each one individually, just  place them all in one folder and lock&hide it. With Lock&Hides security method, your whole folder with any subfolders it contains, will all be protected.

Restore ALL Feature
The RestoreALL feature is an icon that when clicked will restore ALL your hidden folders without having to enter any folder names. It is great in the event you have forgotten the names of the folders you hid and to use before uninstalling to make sure all your secured folders are restored.

Much Faster than Encryption!
Unlike encryption programs which are so slow, It only takes a few seconds to secure or restore any folder with Lock&Hide.Of course, the actual speed will depend on your computer. We tested Lock&Hide on a Pentium 200 with 64 mbs of ram and were able to lock and hide a 50 mb folder containg 500 files and 40 sub folders, in just 2 seconds.
We then made a mega size folder of 1.4 GIGS, containing 707 subfolders and 13,000 files and it took just under 4 seconds to lock and hide, and only 2 seconds to restore! Try that with an encyption program

High Security Level
With Lock&Hide, no one will even know your secured folders exists. Your folders will not come up in any search result. Though no folder hiding program can honestly claim it is "crack" proof, you can rest assured that  Lock&Hide gives you a  security level that is much higher than encryption and what you get in programs like Magic Folders, FolderGuard, Folder Dog  and others - most of which have serious security vulnerabilities, which allow the average person with intent, to gain full access to your hidden folders and which don't protect your data from viruses.

Protect Your Data
Lock&Hide is  great for keeping your personal  files, private images, finances, and sensitive projects, hidden from others while you are away from your computer or home
It just takes a few seconds to lock&hide or restore any folder, so it's no trouble at all to keep your data inaccessible even for short back and forth  abscences from your computer.
Lock&Hide works like a toggle switch - enter the folder name to secure OR restore your folder with one icon.
Lock&Hide  is also ideal for families where the computer is shared with the children. Keep your folders secured and prevent your files from being viewed or tampered with while your children or others.take over the computer.

Virus Protection Too!
Because of the way Lock&Hide secures folders, all your locked and hidden folders are protected from viruses - known or unknown.
Your folders are completely invisible to viruses, trojans and worms.  Just this virus protection aspect is reason enough to use Lock&Hide. Put all your sensitive data, pictures, emails, etc in a folder and lock and hide it safely away knowing that you can acess it anytime in a snap.

Password Protection
Lock&Hide comes with an  assigned password for extra protection. This  means only you can access Lock&Hide by entering a password any time you need to access or secure a folder. Even the install program is  password protected.

Uninstall Security
For extra protection, even uninstalling Lock&Hide will not delete or reveal any of your secured folders. Should you ever forget to restore your secured folders  before uninstalling, simply reinstall Lock&Hide and use the RestoreALL icon to ensure all your folders are restored, and then uninstall again
This is also good protection in the event someone tries to uninstall Lock&Hide on you.
As well, it allows you to completely remove Lock&Hide and keep your private folders hidden without anyone even knowing you have the program installed. This would be useful when you will be away from the computer for an extended period of time and the computer will be used by others.

Efficient
Lock&Hide takes up less than 600  kb  of disk space, makes no changes to your system files and uses very little system resources and memory.
Also, the two main icons of Lock&Hide are stand  alone, independent executables which means even if you delete them, they won't have any adverse affects on your system at all!

Download the free demo version of Lock&Hide now or purchase the full version for only $20. US.
Note: The demo version is limited to 8  uses and does not come with the RestoreALL feature uninstall protection, or any  password protection.
