Hacks and Cheats

If you came here looking for a list of all the cheats Maxis included in the game, this is not the place for that.  There are many, many sites out there that list these, so please don't email me and tell me you know that boolprop_blah,blah,blah does such and such.  I know that too.  This page is where I include stuff Maxis hid in the game or objects hacked by people to do certain stuff.  If you have a favorite hacked object, let me know about it and if I like it, I'll include it here too.

NUDITY DE-BLURRER
If you don't want your naked sims to be pixelated or blurred, the best hack to remove this is the one made by Quaxi (the creator of SimPE) because it does not mess with your game program files and will not cause you any problems.  He has different versions for different expansion packs and they are all available for download HERE.

Here's a new find, from Numenor at ModTheSims2.  It's a doll that Maxis hid in the game for testing, but Numenor made it available for all of us.  It lets you change some of your sims' characteristics. Read the instructions and download it here.

A NEW FIND for University Users!  DatGen has a plugin called Skin Fixer which makes all your pre-University Adult clothing compatible with the Young Adults!  And, it even lets you make the Young Adult clothing available for Adults!

WARNING:  Use hacks AT YOUR OWN RISK.  Be sure to back up your game files BEFORE you use a hack.  If not, you may end up with problems you can't solve and will have to reinstall your game.  If you don't know why or how to back up your game files, you probably shouldn't be using hacks in the first place.  Please do NOT write to me and tell me a hack messed up your game.  You've been warned.

GREAT NEWS FOR OFB USERS!  Once again, Numenor has come to our rescue and made a hack that makes all objects place-able on OFB shelves. This means all your custom content can be shelved now!  Read more and download it from ModTheSims2 here!

On my Objects  page I have a buffet that you can buy for $50 and sell for $5000, but you must wait until after midnite for the price to change.  Just another easy way to get some money :-)

Let me say hats off to the people at ModTheSims2.  They are some of the coolest Sim hackers I know of.  Visit their forums for all kinds of hacks that make the game so much more fun to play.  You will need to join the forum to be able to download anything ... but it's free.  Here's some they have listed there now. (NOTE: ModTheSims2 is totally free and very popular, therefore their server is kinda slow.  If you have trouble accessing any of their pages, just try again later.... and while you're there, consider making a donation ... these guys work hard for free.)

"The Ultimate Hacked Myshuno Cube" which lets you invite pretty much anyone to join your family (including the missing Bella Goth and the maids and gardeners) ... this one was recently moved from ModtheSims2 to Gamespot and for now you can download it here.

"All-in-1 Needs & Aspiration Booster" which is a picture that is added to your Decorative category.  Just put it on the wall and click on it and choose "Think about" and your needs will be totally green ... another one that's been moved to Gamespot and can be downloaded here.

Watch Clouds/Stars Satellite Hack.  This one lets you star gaze and die instantly.  A great way to get rid of family members you no longer want.

SimPE and TS2Enhancer are two tools that you can use to hack all the personality traits and income levels of all your sims, set their sexual preferences, choose their friends and enemies, etc.  SimPE is less newbie-friendly but it's free.  TS2Enhancer is simple to use but costs about $20.  I've used them both and had no problems with either.
